New York June 27 AP metal sugar and packing company issues pushed to new year highs while grains cotton and rubber showed limited gains. Blue Chip Home stake Mining rose to a record 410 as Magma Copper Cuban American Sugar and American Sugar Refining advanced. Rail and utility shares were cautious with some declines noted in tobacco and Allied Chemical. Bonds quiet. gold currencies eased.
Kansas City livestock sales on June 27 show hogs steady to 10 lower with top at 4.80, sows 275 to 560 pounds 4.25 to 4.25, cattle and calves about steady to active with steers 550 to 1500 pounds 5.75 to 9.50, heifers 5.25 to 6.75, cows 3.25 to 4.25, vealers 3.00 to 5.50, and sheep about 25 lower for spring lambs and yearlings with top native lambs at 8.75. yearlings 5.25 to 6.75. ewes 1.90.
Boston reports quiet trade with a modestly better call for goods. Dealers in Texas are said to have purchased twelve months wool as estimated prices in the range 68-70 cents scoured and about 70-7 cents for fleeces, with landed Boston prices noted.
