First Local 18 Year Old Voter Registers in Roswell

Miss Julie Ann Haut 18 of Roswell arrives at the Chaves County clerk’s office to register as a voter under the lowered voting age. Clerk Mrs Walter Haut says the office will accept 18 to 21 year olds but hold registrations until state secretary of state instructions arrive. Haut registers as a Republican and notes the 18 year old vote should be limited to those serving overseas.
