A man reports his pocketed purse lost this morning between Main Street and the Evans Boarding House. It contained $45 in currency, $2 to $3 in silver, two meal tickets, and cards bearing the name Robert T. McClung. finder to return to the Record Office for a liberal reward.
Pecos Valley Music Co advertises expert tuning re-polishing and re pairing for pianos and organs with a great reduction on pianos and easy payments. A Missouri Club meeting is planned at F J Becks office on June 23. Iowa Southern Land Company offers property listings and exchanges. A Children’s Day program was held at the M E Church South. The U S Market offers Kansas City meat described as fat juicy and government inspected with fresh daily receipts. 901 food.
San Francisco mourns the death of George K. Fitch a prominent California citizen who died suddenly in San Rafael on June 18. Fitch a longtime newspaper publisher and state printer in San Francisco prior to 1856 helped run the Bulletin and Call with Loring Pickering and was aged eighty.
Pree tas W Martin, formerly of Roswell, writes to The Earth about Roswell within Pecos Valley growth. He notes population rising from 2,000 to about 2,900 and teacher numbers increasing from five to twenty five. He highlights salary ranges in country and city schools and suggests teachers can acquire land, improve farms, and attain independence without long teaching careers.
Governor Hagerman accepted an invitation to deliver the opening address at the Albuquerque fair in September. Solomon Luna and the sheep sanitary board seek to convene a territory wide convention to form a sheep growers association.
