The Roswell Gun Club hosts a three day shoot with a pre program and main events from early morning. Professionals compete for prizes while all shots pay rocks broken. targets cost 2 1 2 cents, meals by Baptist Church ladies, and officials’ decisions are final.
On June 15 1910 the program lists Blue Rocks Ent with entries over 20 shooters at $2.00 and $10.00 per entry, a professional special for 25 birds at $1100 prize, open to amateurs. Navajo Bug wins medal with high score while targets are deducted. Stevens No 522 repeating trap grade shotgun entry $2.50 includes targets for 25 birds. Distance handicap 16 to 20 yards. Trick shooting by Master Sam Farsid age 11.
The second day repeats the first ten events with Blue Rocks as targets. Event 11 is a professional special 25 targets entrance, amateurs may enter, Navajo Rugbow score, medal, targets deducted. Event 12 Grand Central Handicap 50 targets, $50 added, $5 entry for amateurs, 16 to 20 yards, money split 5-3-2-1, shooters at 16 yards not in for money.

Taft canceled plans to visit New Haven next week and discussed statehood for New Mexico and Arizona with Beveridge, Dick, and Governor Sloan. The House is ready to accept the Senate bill and a deal may send the statehood measure to passage within a week, following postal savings bank legislation and conservation moves to control water power sites and lands. Representative Parker of New Jersey is charged with bribe taking along with other members.

The Abernathy brothers Temple aged 6 and Louis aged 10 completed a 2500 mile journey from Guthrie Ohio to Broadway New York arriving at 6 30 pm outside the Breslin Hotel amid cheering crowds. They traveled on a horse and were met by demonstrative supporters as they reached the city.

Fred Owens a 20 year old Belleville New Jersey resident startled Manhattan by flying a dirigible across the Hudson. The craft became unmanageable near City Hall Park hit a chimney and rose away toward Brooklyn. Owens was rescued after the gas bag finally landed in a tree in Flatbush and ladders were used.

The government schooner Van Herdt capsized on Curacao s northeast coast in thick weather Sunday night. Of the captain, crew, and passengers, all but four sailors and one passenger perished. The sole survivor is one passenger, the governor of Bueno Ayre, a Dutch island off the Venezuelan coast. Survivors reached Willemstad with the news.
