Bank Loot May Finance Kidnapper Mahan

Butte Montana June 13 AP investigators say loot from a seven year old bank robbery may finance fugitive William Mahan of the Weyerhaeuser kidnap case. Bonds totaling 107000 were recovered when Mahan was arrested in Rathdrum Idaho but the total loot may be larger as bonds hidden near Butte could exist. Police suspect Mahan fled before the manhunt began and may have secreted or used the ransom money alongside the hot funds from the Weyerhaeuser case. The investigation centers on whether a second person named A T Davis drove the car and whether another passenger left traces in Mahan's vehicle.
