Roswell Aldermen met with Mayor Stockard for discussion on street drainage grades and park improvements. City Engineer to draft grading plans. Richardson of the Roswell Commercial Club urged funding and acceleration of city parks including Riverside and Lea parks, with prior grant conditions noted.
The Home Oil Company was organized this morning near Roswell with a $1,000,000 capital and 640 acres of prime oil lands east of Roswell near the project gusher site. E A Cahoon W M Atkinson Kellahin J F Hinkle and others form the organizing committee and plan pipelines to Roswell if oil proves paying.
Mrs Howells testified for the prosecution that Mr and Mrs Stone lived near the negro church at the time of the homicide and that she heard no loud talking or profanity when shots were fired Will Pendergrass testified for the defense that he was at the gate near Oliver Hendricks and the officer Rainbolt was accused of cursing Oliver Hendricks before the killing Eight character witnesses testified and James M Hervey concluded the two hour and forty minute prosecution address urging a verdict of first degree murder

Nei Robson Nilsson, manager of Honda Stone Manufacturing near the depot, reports two girls and three boys damaged green cement tiling. He warns he will have them arrested if offenses repeat and has notified police. He notes this in his display ad in the issue.

A West Virginia Refining Company plant in Huntington was burned out this morning. Authorities estimate the loss at $200,000. No injuries reported as firefighters battled the blaze.
