In Ernest Pennsylvania near Indiana two miners were killed and eight wounded as state constabulary clashed with striking coal workers. A brass band led marchers toward the station when a band member fired, prompting a volley that left ten strikers down. Calm reportedly returned with no further trouble expected.

Lost boy found kinship tangled in midwest mystery

Five year old Willie Farris reportedly kidnapped from New York was found in Booneville Missouri after being left by a Missouri Pacific flyer conductor. Relatives in Torreon and Rockport were traced as Willie’s aunt and mother’s connections emerged. Police confirmed Willie is nephew of Mrs. Farris of Staten Island. no timeframe for his departure from New York was given.
