One Basic Code For Many Small Industries
Washington June 8 NRA will announce a ready made code for several hundred small industries. The plan aims to enforce shorter hours, living wages, union rights, and bans on unfair trade. Firms may subscribe voluntarily or must secure 85 percent assent for more extensive rules. The effort seeks to consolidate codes from 450 to about 300 and reduce administrative load while preserving price reporting and a 40 hour week. Wages hover near the 15 a week factory minimum with a southern differential likely continued.
