Michael Herrington a former deputy defeated incumbent Britt Snyder in the Republican primary 56.52 percent to 43.48 percent with 2,836 votes to 2,182. He will win the office in November as no opposition exists. Herrington celebrated with family at the American Legion building and thanked Snyder for his two decades of collaboration.
