Vaccine nasal spray aids fight against common colds
At the American Medical Association convention Dr. Theodore E. Walsh of St. Louis reported a nasal vaccine sprayed into the nose produced 74 percent freedom from colds over eight years in observed patients. He said the method builds tissue immunity, with the nose providing a front line mucous defense and a second line of immune response, making virus colds self-limiting when secondary invaders are countered.
