Suspect eludes police after Roswell carjacking attempt
Two teenage girls report a man tried to carjack their vehicle Friday in Roswell. State and local police converged on a south side home where the suspect barricaded himself then fled after breaking a window. no injuries were reported. Officers search for the suspect and fingerprints are to be taken. The incident drew witnesses along South Lea Avenue.

State and federal agencies begin Superfund site studies
State and federal environmental agencies have started soil gas and vapor intrusion studies at the Lea and West Second Street Superfund Site in Albuquerque.
