Poor Clare nun Mary Angela to take final vows in Roswell
Frances Kelly of Albuquerque will profess as a Poor Clare nun at the Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Roswell. Archbishop Robert F. Sanchez will preside at the 9 30 a m ceremony with priests and Franciscan friars in attendance. The event marks the culmination of 50 years of preparation and the community’s growth to 31 members with two daughter monasteries following Roswell’s 30th anniversary.

Roswell police arrest man on multiple charges
A Roswell city man Timothy J. Fletcher 20 of 406 EF Summit St was arrested early Saturday on aggravated assault and second degree criminal sexual contact of a juvenile girl. He allegedly fired at a pursuer and claimed two intruders assaulted him at his home. Police also reported larceny arrests for two other men and welfare fraud warrants. Two stolen cars were recovered and one still missing. Bidding for two New Mexico State Highway Department projects ends August 18 1978.

New Mexico MVD to Hold Roswell License Hearing
The Motor Vehicle Division of the New Mexico Transportation Department will hold a public hearing in Roswell at the City Police Building on August 19 to discuss new classifications for driver licenses. Legislation authorized the MVD to develop a revised license program with a system set to take effect January 1, 1979.
