Six men were arrested in Philadelphia in an FBI dragnet on charges of conspiring to overthrow the U S government by force. Kuzma identified as party trade union secretary led the group. others named include Labovitz Lowenfels Nebried Weiss and Dubensky Davis. Bail set at 175000 total with hearings scheduled August 6.
Mayor Warren R. Cobean issues a proclamation urging Roswell residents to support the annual Buddy Poppy sale organized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars set for August 1.
