The Senate Labor Committee postponed its hearings on the 19 day airline strike at administration request. Britain to nationalize steel industry in Labour plan

London reports the House of Commons backed the Labour government bill to nationalize 14 major steel firms, a move seen as boosting state control of 90 percent of the nation’s steel. The tally was 328 to 247 on second reading as Conservatives attacked PM Harold Wilson’s handling of the economy.

Lusk Calls For Board Overseeing New Mexico Development Agency

New Mexico gubernatorial candidate T. E. Gene Lusk urged that the state Development Agency be governed by a board rather than under the governor's direct control. Guards Shot During Big Armored Car Robbery in Boston

Two guards were shot but not seriously wounded when three armed gunmen robbed an armored car of 60 000 dollars outside the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jamaica Plain Boston witnesses said the attackers used masked gunmen and some accounts noted machine gun style fire. The robbers fled in a panel truck followed by a white sedan with Connecticut plates. The incident marked the second armored car robbery in Greater Boston within four days.
