Bobby Gunnor Not Kidnapped Is Very Sick

Hartsdale New York July 18 AP the kidnaping theory in the Bobby Connor case collapsed today as 21 month old Bobby Connor lay seriously ill in a hospital after being found in a bramble thicket. Federal agents and police announced their investigations were ended, convinced he wandered off and spent five days in the woods. He is described as a very sick baby with a fair chance to recover.

Zinn Replies Not Filed On Supreme Court Charges

Albuquerque and Santa Fe reports say Associate Justice A L Zinn has not filed a formal answer to charges of unprofessional conduct. The Supreme Court had directed a more precise response. Also noted: a hot, dry week across New Mexico with temperatures mostly above 90, some 109 in the south. drought worsened for farmers and stockmen as irrigation and forage declined.

McAdoo Divorce Granted After Quick Hearing

Los Angeles July 18 AP The divorce of Senator William Gibbs McAdoo and Eleanor Wilson McAdoo was granted after a brief hearing. Judge Allan B Campbell approved the decree within minutes of the suit filing, citing incompatibility and Washington climate as reasons. McAdoo, 70, and Mrs McAdoo, 43, noted the senator’s duties require time in Washington. Mr McAdoo's first wife died in 1913.

A brief shower fell in Roswell just after eight o'clock with only a trace of precipitation recorded by the local weather bureau. The shower cleared the atmosphere and suggests a potential for stronger rain soon.

Crockett Charged With Effacing Brands

In a case titled by Harry Thorne Lloyd Crockett was arraigned before Justice L L Johnson on a charge of effacing and obliterating a brand mark on another person s sheep. He pleaded not guilty and waived preliminary hearing. He was bound over to the district court and released on a 500 dollar bond pending trial.

Old Water Main Replaced on Main Street

The old Main Street water main, laid in 1908, is severely corroded and reduced from 12 inches to eight to ten inches. It is being replaced with cement lined cast iron pipe that resists corrosion and is expected to last indefinitely. A 1926 cement patch remains in good condition.
