Sanfrancisco July 17 Bud dy Ryan who claims welterweight title and George Peterson of this city are to hook it up in a twenty round bout tonight before the new Colma club. They will weigh in at 142 pounds.
New York July 17 Senator W A Clark recovering from car abscess operation passed a comfortable night with very favorable indications this morning.
Howard Ringo was arrested at Lakewood and brought here by Sheriff Woodruff Sunday morning, accused of forging checks totaling about $60. He is jailed awaiting a hearing tomorrow before Judge Bailey. He is described as a well known young man with many friends hoping for his innocence.
C. A. Pepple a drilling contractor from Lakewood arrived this morning on business. He plans to return home tonight and will come to Roswell again tomorrow.
Reports from Warsaw Lodz and Tokio describe a sergeant of detectives killed by an unknown assailant. A pursuit by infantry led to a merchant’s death. Mutineers were captured.
