Berlin reports steady progress in improving relations between Germany and Great Britain. Emperor William actively presses Englishmen to foster peace and good will, telling a British naval officer at Kiel that bickerings are needless and harmful and vowing to leave nothing undone to maintain harmony.
Washington reports fear Captain Robert E Peary doomed after Roosevelts Arctic mission of July 16 1905 yields no tidings. Naval men cite severe north weather and heavy ice as possible causes for loss or wreck of the expedition ship Roosevelts fate remains unconfirmed.
Commander Potts naval governor of Guam reports Thomas stranded on a reef off Guam. Station ship Supply tried to pull free but could not. Tugs were needed, but none available at Guam according to the cable messages.
Washington July 7 The anxiety over the lighthouse tender Laurel was eased by a telegram from Key West stating she had anchored under the Lobos light from June 25 to July 2 while awaiting calmer winds.

A group of low priced mining stock brokers plans to move operations to Jersey City next week to evade the amended stock transfer tax law. The act imposes a two cent tax on each share sold, regardless of par value or market price.

Ferdinand L Borges promoter of the Ube ro Plantation Company was convicted on seventy three counts for larceny and conspiracy and sentenced by Judge White to fifteen years in state prison in Boston July 6.
Henry Meldrum, former U S Surveyor General for Oregon, was sentenced by Judge Silverton in federal court. He faces 21 counts with fines of 250 dollars each and 60 days hard labor on 18 counts in McNeil's Island penitentiary for conspiracy to defraud the government in land dealings.
John A. Craig his wife and family arrived in Roswell from College Station Texas and will settle in the city or vicinity attracted by the climate. Craig is noted as a leading agriculturist in the United States.

He held in abeyance the league’s withdrawal petition as the supreme court issued a writ of superseders. The judge convened the jury on his own motion.

Madrid July 6 King Alfonso today announced a new ministry to succeed the cabinet headed by Prendergast which resigned yesterday. Field Marshal Lopez Dominguez is premier and minister of war in the new cabinet. The ministry follows the same general policy and includes prominent men from liberal groups in the senate and chamber of deputies.
Honest Election League of Denver petitions Judge Mullins to withdraw the grand jury request. They argue a grand jury is pointless since the supreme court has barred District Attorney Stidger and Sheriff Nisbet from participation. The court will rule tomorrow.
