Longhorn Manufacturing, the largest U.S. fireworks firm, ships thousands of Class B and C fireworks to states for the July 4 holiday from Roswell. CEO Don Robertson notes daily output around 88 200 items, with 85 to 100 employees at peak and shipments mainly January to April.

Nixon Returns Home From Soviet Summit With Nuclear Pacts

Edahow Wins Roswell Contract for Cobra Dane Radar Parts

Edahow Electronics of Roswell received a Raytheon Contract to manufacture antenna terminals and cable assemblies for the Cobra Dane phased array radar at Shemya Air Force Base Alaska. The project will expand local operations and staff from 26 to about 100 plus as the plant moves to a larger building.

Hundreds attend memorial for Mrs King Sr at Ebenezer Church

In Atlanta hundreds gathered at Ebenezer Baptist Church for the funeral of Mrs. Martin Luther King Sr. The 70 year old mother of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was shot during Sunday services while playing the Lord’s Prayer on the organ. Her husband Dr. Martin Luther King Sr. and daughter Christine survive. The service drew many leaders and dignitaries.
