Clyde C. Anderson, 61, of 1305 Bonita Drive, seeks the Roswell municipal judgeship in the March 9 city election. A lifelong New Mexico resident with prior Portales car dealer and state safety roles, he is a Lions International member and WWII veteran.
Roswell Democrat R E Thompson leads push for the long awaited election reform measure limiting campaign spending. The plan caps state primary and general expenditures for legislators at 30000, US senators at 150000, governors at 150000, and congress members at 100000. Thompson notes his modest race cost about 500 dollars. The highway bill redirecting surplus to highway debentures was tabled as money measures wait in Finance.
