Jerry Smith announces Steve Henderson 38 will run for Ward 2 councilman on the United Roswell Ticket. Henderson, tied to Reliable Realtors and Henderson Sales Co, seeks his first public office. Ward 2 councilman Jim Lilley may not seek re election. Henderson lives at 2506 Gage Drive with wife Carol and four children. he chairs Rio Hondo Boy Scouts district and is an elder and trustee at First Christian Church. He is vice president of the Realtors Association of New Mexico and former president of the local Board of Realtors. He pledges a balanced ticket and city progress.

Roswell Mayor William F Brainerd endorses a 1.2 million general obligation bond for a municipal storm sewer system as part of a 15 million flood control plan.
