On January 15 near Boyertown the opera house fire left 1162 bodies in morgues as undertakers and local services rushed to handle remains. Many victims unidentifiable, with hundreds waiting for word on loved ones while teams and stables prepared to transport the unclaimed remains.

Hagerman learns from Brownwood Texas of the death of John Davisson son of W S Davisson. He was killed when a stump puller lever broke and struck him near his uncle’s home in Brownwood Monday. The father arrives with the body Friday and the funeral will be held in Hagerman at ten in the morning with burial there.

Dr. C. F. Beeson brought in the head and hide of a large bobcat killed at his ranch miles up the Hondo. The animal weighed thirty pounds with a four foot body and head. It is the third big cat Beeson has killed this season and the seventh killed near his home since last summer. The hide astonishes witnesses with its size.

He also rejects being offered the Knickerbocker Trust presidency or conferring with J P Morgan, and says he did not see Morgan on his New York trip.
In Chicago a case involving Mrs Beatrice Thomas Metcalf, who shot at banker John R Walsh's attorney Samuel R Hamill in the federal building, parallels the Salt Lake case of Mrs Annie M Bradley who was acquitted after killing former Senator Arthur Brown. Metcalf waived examination, is held to grand jury on $10000 bond, and seeks legal action for alleged wrongs by Hamill.
