Apodaca seeks more money for cities in New Mexico

Gov. Jerry Apodaca proposes returning 12 to 24 million dollars annually of the state gross receipts tax to 94 incorporated cities towns and villages. The plan would add a half cent to a quarter cent shared tax, boosting funding for police fire streets and other services while avoiding a checkerboard tax system. Albuquerque Santa Fe Farmington Hobbs Las Cruces would be the top beneficiaries. The governor did not attend the news conference due to illness.

Roswell Water Safe per City Officials Despite Magazine Claim
