Roswell council races see incumbents unchallenged in three wards
Three incumbents face no opposition in Ward 1 Ward 3 and Ward 4 as Juan Oropesa Jeanine Corn Best and Savino Sanchez Jr file for re election. Ward 2 sees Steve Henderson running with challengers Orie Adcock and Kerry Moore while Elena Velasquez also seeks re election. Barry Foster and Sergio Gonzalez join race in Ward 5. A total of 12 candidates filed for the March 1 municipal elections in Roswell.

Eleven apply for RISD two board vacancies
The Roswell Independent School District vacancies in districts 2 and 5 followed two resignations in December. Eleven candidates filed by the deadline, seven for district 2 and four for district 5. The board will review at 8 a.m. and Bur ris will interview. a final decision comes at 10 a.m. January 14, with swearing in set for January 19 and a leadership reorganization to follow.
