Indians prize eagle claws and feathers at prices of about 12 dollars for claws and a couple of dollars for each feather. An eagle has eight feathers, four per wing, valued by collectors. Indians may bag eagles on the reservation though off the reservation they are protected. The Jaycees held a holiday rest stop at the 13 mile marker on U S 70 for motorists with coffee and refreshments. Traffic was heavy westbound. Easter break looms as colleges reopen. New Mexico Student Dies in Roswell Area Crash
A New Mexico State University student formerly from Roswell died from head and neck injuries after a head on collision 17 miles south of Roswell on U.S. 285 at 3:50 a.m. Sunday. Alfred Montez, 27, of Glencoe, is hospitalized with severe head and chest injuries. Cox was 25 and had recently moved to Las Cruces to attend school.
