City of Roswell Sued Over 36500 Paying Assessments

Ed ward F Altman of Pueblo Colorado sues the City of Roswell for 36500 damages claiming failure to collect paying assessments and allowing them to become barred by the New Mexico statute of limitations. The case mirrors a similar Albuquerque test suit now before Judge Johnson with Roswell city attorney Ross L Marone Jr participating.

Call Made For First Aid Books

All residents with standard first aid textbooks are asked to loan them for a class starting next week. Borrowers should write name and address inside the cover and leave the books at the Chamber of Commerce by tomorrow night. Urgent need exists while new books arrive. All loans will be returned. The class will include many civilians from defense units needing first aid training.

Batavia, N. I., Jan 2. United States fleet units have joined the Dutch navy in defending the East Indies Archipelago. A Dutch communique said an American warship cooperating with the Netherlands navy was attacked by Japanese planes but sustained no serious damage. The same area saw Japanese aircraft attack two U S planes, while three Japanese planes bombed Sumatra’s east coast as part of ongoing terror campaigns.

Vast War Budget Sent To Printers Soon To Congress
