John E. Wilkie chief of the U S Secret Service arrived in Chicago to take charge of the investigation into the recent robbery of the Chicago Sub-Treasury. Federal officials announced no crew had been captured and arrests were not immediate. A shadowing by detectives tied to Standard Oil employees heightened the case ahead of the trial opening next Monday.
A hearing concluded with no orders or steps to compel Har Riman to testify or answer. no action was taken to force her to respond.

With the opening set for April 26, the Jamestown Exposition grounds at Ter-Centennial in Hampton Roads show major progress. Two grand exhibit palaces for Manufactures and Liberal Arts and for Machinery and Transportation near completion. The State Palace, the largest building, is finished and to be turned over soon, with installation to begin.

Bloomington reports Thomas Baldwin a wealthy Colfax farmer and former merchant shot and killed Charles Kennedy his wife and daughter Cora Eiseman in Bloomington. Baldwin, 68, was arrested after previously posting bond on a criminal assault charge involving 14 year old Cora Eiseman. He blamed the Kennedy family and Mrs Eiseman for the prosecution.

The groom works as a driver for W R Bond transfer man and is described as energetic. The bride is praised as possessing the essentials of a good housewife and friends predict a long, happy marriage.
The Alaska Press Association, a new group of afternoon newspapers from Juneau Skagway Valdez Fairbanks and other Alaskan cities, filed a complaint alleging excessive rates for press matter in the northern territory. It claims Dawson and other Canadian cities pay half a cent per word while Alaska papers are charged five times as much.
The board met at the courthouse with representatives of both sides to study case documents. No public interest items emerged. the board will reconvene tonight for private consideration of the dispute.

The battleship Connecticut arrived in New York after a crew member contracted typhoid fever in the West Indies. Reports say 65 sailors are stricken, with 15 in critical condition.

Market steady with southern steers 3.75 to 5.25, southern cows 2.50 to 3.75, stockers 3.50 to 5.30, bulls 3.60 to 4.25, calves 3.50 to 7.75, western fed steers 4.00 to 5.90, western fed cows 2.75 to 4.50, muttens 4.75 to 5.60, lambs 6.50 to 7.00, ewes 5.25 to 6.40, and fed ewes 4.50 to 5.15.
