Carl M. Bird, clerk of the district court, fell seriously ill yesterday but recovered enough today to be described as better and able to return to work with uncertainty about full activity.
W R Slinkard told a Record reporter that on Sunday around four o clock three tons and 400 pounds of black powder were fired in a single blast at the Honda reservoir. The powder filled 59 earth holes connected by wire and detonated by electric current. The blast moved dirt and rock substantially but produced no unusually loud noise. Slinkard said no one from Roswell could attend due to bad roads and he made no public announcement.

Antonio Love was arrested on a charge of assault with intent to kill from an incident last September 20. His wife, the prosecuting witness, says he drew a knife and threatened to kill her. she grabbed the knife to defend herself. Love was bound over to the grand jury by Justice Bailey and posted a $300 bond for his April appearance.
Word came Saturday evening in a vedal to The Record that Josephine Cazier's suit against the P V N E was reversed and remanded for retrial by the supreme court at Santa Fe. W C Reid represented the railroad and Judge Nisbet the plaintiff.
