Hold up suspects named in Roswell area case near Tinnie
Three men from Roswell, C F Hoge, K H Sheets, and Billy Green, were arrested by Chaves county officers after a holdup of W M Smith near Tinnie. Smith lost $640. Hoge claimed $40. A fourth man is still sought as police estimate the cost to capture him at 400 to 500. The victims, Mr Smith and Hoge, had come from Mississippi seeking health. they were camping at La Hondo Auto Camp when robbed.

Legion Opposes Change in New Mexico Veterans Exemption

Woman shoots man attacking husband in Charlotte
A housewife, Mrs. Lee Buchman, fired at a man accused of assaulting her husband with a gun and blackjack. Brother of Dr L L Johnson Dies at 70 in Roswell
Charles Willis Johnson aged 70, brother of Dr L J Johnson of Roswell, died at 9 05 this morning at Dr Johnsons East College home. He lived in Roswell for years and is survived by his widow six children twenty grandchildren two brothers and two sisters. His wife son Erwan Johnson of Portland Oregon grandson Homer Barrick of Mitchell Minnesota and Dr L Johnson were with him. He was a member of the M E Church and Modern Woodmen born in La Porte Indiana in 1863 and a lifelong Macen County Minnesota resident. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 pm at the Bynum Ballard Chapel with Rev Benjamin Hitelgeorge of the First M E Church presiding.
