Slaying of Gul Burns prompts police to seek salesman
In Los Angeles on December 10, police sought Indiana candy salesman John Frank Reaves, 26, for questioning in the slashing and killing of 17 year old bar room hostess Alice Burns. Her naked body was found in a vacant lot after last seen with a strange man. Police noted a 4 inch knife blade in her shoulder from a kitchen knife taken from a rooming house. Burns husband Curly Burns recalled Christmas with her before her death and said she planned to avoid beer joints. Fort Worth, Texas-bound body to be sent for burial.
