Deadly wood alcohol toll rises after prohibition

At least 126 dead and 148 seriously ill from wood alcohol since prohibition began. Fifty-seven deaths in two days from poisoned whiskey in New England, with 52 dead and 100 blind in New York City. Deaths also reported in Memphis Richmond Newark Syracuse and Chicago and arrests made in New England. Cleveland and Emporium Pa report illnesses and deaths from wood alcohol this week.
