ACA start date brings modest patient load rise for NM providers
Low enrollment in the federal exchange means New Mexico health care systems will see only a modest uptick in patient load when ACA implementation begins on January 1. Lovelace Health System officials say the start will be anticlimactic and ER wait times should stay stable outside routine fluctuations as insurers prepare for March 31 enrollment deadlines. Roswell and La Casa Family Health Center locations are hiring to prepare for insured influx by adding physicians and providers by March.
