Pope Francis Hails Jesus Humble Birth at Christmas Eve Mass
Pope Francis delivered his first Christmas Eve homily as pontiff praising Jesus as humble and vulnerable born to the poor. He urged outreach to the vulnerable, noted shepherds as the first to hear the birth, and carried the Jesus figure in a sign of humility. In Bethlehem pilgrims gathered for Christmas Eve, hoping for Palestinian statehood amid the season’s messages of peace and brotherhood.
