Marinette fire victims' children mourned as funds rise

In Marinette Wisconsin a pre dawn blaze killed five children of Mr and Mrs De Gaynor. The mother Rose 27 was sedated in hospital with burns and possible concussion. Father suffers burns and a leg injury after a fall from the roof. Donations and pledges total over 10000 as radio and shoppers rally to aid in recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Crosswhite's Christmas to Be Sad Affair

Wichita Falls report details Naomi Irene Chandler Crosswhite 19 released on own recognizance after arraignment on harboring a fugitive. She fled Clovis NM with Norman Davenport 25, an escaped convict involved in a $3,000 Clovis supermarket robbery. Davenport escaped. Crosswhite and her two children were later stopped near Wichita Falls. Sheriff Bailey plans to keep the mother from seeing the children until further order.

Transfer Approved for KROD Radio and TV Permits

The FCC approved the transfer of license for Radio Station KROD and a construction permit for Television Station KROD from Roderick Broadcasting Corp of El Paso Texas to El Paso Times Inc yesterday. The deal involves 800000 dollars and the Roderick family holds a 75 percent stake in the Times.

Brother rescues as boy sustains severe burns from gasoline fire

At a Rosswell area farm eight miles south a 16 year old, Jack Price, rushed to help his younger brother J L Price when his clothing ignited from a gasoline can. J L suffers third degree burns on legs, admitted to St. Mary's Hospital. The blaze occurred at 10 a.m. Sunday after a flat tire delay while refueling a station wagon.

Pup Rescued From Carlsbad Well by Sea Anchor

In Carlsbad New Mexico two strangers used a bread and milk baited Navy sea anchor to lift a two month old pup from a collapsed well. The pup, dehydrated but in good condition, was saved near the Thacker family home.
