From Ft Reno a report states Captain Macklin passed a good night and doctors expect a speedy recovery barring complications. His assailant remains at large as police pursue clues amid tension following a prior incident.
News from Goldfield reports a Friday IWW strike causing rapid depopulation from 15,000 to about 7,000. Most mines mills and smelters are closed except Hayes Monett and Mohawk. U S deputy marshals will supervise at Hayes Monett and Mohawk. Separate dispatch notes locomotive firemen’s strike actions and a reported calm on wider railway strains amid wage disputes. Holiday church programs and Santa Claus appearances are announced for several local churches with trees, sermons, and special services.
