Doubt over silver and gold price policy influence
The discussion covers Prof. G. F. Warren's theory of using silver with gold to stabilize prices, the President's monetary proclamation preserving a gold to silver ratio but not fixing limits, current market prices of silver at 64.5 cents and gold at 34.06 dollars, and the likely effects on prices and foreign trade with potential large silver purchases and government sales keeping ratios. Economists disagree on foreign trade impact, noting the U S will only buy domestically mined silver and other nations will not dump silver here.
