Early College FFA Club Marks Foundational Year
The Early College High School Future Farmers of America club held a Greenhand Ceremony at Eastern New Mexico University Roswell campus to honor 22 students with certificates and bronze pins. Teacher Kassi Carpenter praised resilience and optimism as core qualities and highlighted agricultural leadership skills. After pinning, four students received special recognition.

Homicide Investigated in Roswell South Side
Police report a homicide on Roswell south side with gunfire heard by multiple sources. Victim Larry A. Turner, 38, found near I and East Eyman streets at about 1 a.m. He died on scene after gunshot wounds. A nearby house and vehicle were also struck in the area known as the base near Walker Air Force Base.

Legion volunteers deliver 71 holiday meal boxes to Pecos Valley veterans
Officers from American Legion Post 28 distributed 71 food boxes to veterans across Pecos Valley on Wednesday. The deliveries started at the post, with ham green beans rolls potatoes and pie, and included visits to veterans’ homes where gratitude was evident in smiles and repeated thanks.
