A test well named R I Wilson Brown No 1 will be spudded tomorrow about eight miles southwest of Roswell on the Brown brothers land. Ralph I Wilson is the driller with S W Lodewick and S P Johnson Jr of Roswell as partners. The well targets 2000 feet and a 60 to 90 day completion. Two Women Survive Fatal New Mexico Accident
Miss Katie H. Andres and Miss Gussie Unruh of Newton Kansas were injured in an automobile crash near Roswell on the Roswell Clovis highway December 10. Two other Kansas women, Miss Mary M. Andres and Miss Marie Beese, were killed. The two survivors, once unconscious, are now recovering at St. Marys hospital and expect to leave for home in a week to ten days. Each sustained head blows. Unruh has a broken arm and a cut, Andres a leg cut and bruised eyes. A brother of each survivor is present. They plan Christmas at home before returning to bring their sisters home. The crash occurred about 5:20 am when the car struck a heavily loaded breakdown truck 47 miles northeast of Roswell.

Cadets Scatter All Over Country On Christmas Furlough
Nearly all of the 600 cadets at N M M I left for Christmas furlough scattering to homes across the United States. Ten cadets from Mexico fly or travel home, while 16 from other foreign lands visit friends in this country. Among them are cadets from Hawaii, the Philippines, South America, the Canal Zone, and Australia. Ten cadets remain in the institute hospital with flu. A Santa Fe train carried 165 cadets in nine Pullman cars to destinations, and nine Canopy buses transported cadets on the start of the furlough.

Nearly All Of Loot From Haley's Recovered In Roswell Shootout
Nearly all of the about 100 dollars worth of groceries stolen from Haley's Green Valley Market on East 2nd Street last Saturday night has been recovered. Part of the loot was found in the car of Marvin James Gulley, a 22 year old ex convict who was killed in a gun battle with sheriff Frank Young and deputy Strickland. More loot was found in a room rented by Gulley near the county warehouse and in the possession of Claude Hall who said he had traded for the goods but did not know they were stolen.
