A Washington dispatch says a misstep sparked a war scare. Secretary Dickinson believed the President had seen and approved a report prepared by Major General Leonard Wood, but the document never reached the President. Dickinson returned, read it, and gave sanctions assuming the President knew.
In a crowded courtroom Judge Wm H Pope sentenced Guy Stapp and Park Edmondson to one year to 18 months in the penitentiary for unlawfully killing cattle and receiving stolen property. Roscoe Spriggs received one year to fifteen months in reform school at Springer for burglary at Kenna. Jasper G Davis drew one year to twenty months for larceny of beef. Elza White and J W Satterwhite faced one year to twenty months for stealing horses.
Detainees receive prison terms for horse stealing arson burglary and other crimes. Aguilar Garner Musgrave Barela Hart Howell McGill and others receive ranges from six months to four years with some suspended sentences. Several liquor license cases postponed to December 30 and meat purchase records cases fined ten dollars plus costs.
U S Senator Frazier of Tennessee says subcommittee report on Lorimer bribery was not unanimous. He filed a dissent stating four Illinois legislators who voted for Lorimer were bribed by three others, and that seven Lorimer votes were corrupted.

Washington December 19 The Interstate Commerce Commission grants tentative approval to a twenty percent reduction in upper berth prices in Pullman cars and lowers rates for long trips. The new charges apply nationwide by January 20 1911 with a two dollar twelve hour rate.
