Anonymous donors pay off Kmart layaway accounts nationwide
At Kmart stores many strangers pay off layaway balances including toys and children's clothes in multiple cities. An Indianapolis woman paid for as many as 50 accounts in memory of her late husband, while other benefactors covered balances ranging from a few dollars to over a thousand. The act sparked tears and renewed faith in Christmas as families faced holiday budgets.
