Capture of Pritchard slayer shocks Wichita region
16 year old cowboy Jack Wisdom was brought to the Kansas State Reformatory for safety after admitting involvement in the kidnapping and killing of Mr and Mrs Harry Pritchard of Wichita. He placed the killings on the shoulders of a supposed man named One Buck Smith and described scenes from Wellington to near Bison Oklahoma. Authorities doubt Smith's existence and pressed Wisdom for more details as mobs and National Guard were mobilized in Oklahoma.

Dell Hanlon known as Slippery Dell and his wife Ruth are jailed in Omaha with several others over a $10,000 Denver cafe holdup. Hanlon, once a riot go-between and life term inmate, was paroled after aiding a Colorado prison riot and later freed as a reward. he had been running a St. Paul night club, and his wife is Seattle-born Ruth Loraus.
