Santa Fe AP reports Jose A. Baca assistant Secretary of State mailed summons to election judges in 11 counties to correct returns so the state canvassing board can finish. The final tally shows Dennis Chavez leading Bronson Cutting by 11 votes in the Senate race, with an overall Cutting majority of 1284 after county tallies. Corrections in Lea and Rio Arriba counties could shift small margins.
Two crews began work in Chaves county to purchase cattle under a $200000 drought relief allotment. County agent J R Thomas said the fund will cover all cattle workable through December 31, with buying to stop then and no future allotments expected.

Washington reports that from January 1 to December 1 the United States advanced 4.3489 billion dollars in an emergency drive to aid business, farmers, and the needy. Most of this sum is recoverable, with relief totaling 1.948 billion and public works 1.326 billion as part of 1934 expenditures, outside normal yearly outlays.
Flemington New Jersey December 10 AP two pieces of wood one from the Lindbergh kidnap ladder and one from Bruno Hauptmann's Bronx home were found to fit perfectly by wood expert Arthur Kohler. The find is cited as important new evidence expected to tie Hauptmann to the case ahead of his January trial. defense counsel Frederick Pope disputed the report.
Doris Rogers, 21, sweetheart of John Gorrell, confronted Philip Kennamer in the Tulsa jail about the slaying. Rogers, from Pittsburgh Kansas, is expected to play a key role in the state's prosecution of Kennamer, son of an Oklahoma federal judge.
The U S district attorney's office says Mrs. B J Patton pleaded guilty to violating the Harrison narcotic act before U S Commissioner D W Jones at Clovis. She is held on a $1,000 bond in Clovis awaiting further proceedings.
George A. Fleming of Las Vegas district deputy Grand Exalted Ruler will make his official visit to the Roswell lodge Tuesday night. A turkey dinner will be served at seven o'clock.
W M Berrong captain at La Tuna prison farm and Miss Cueca Telles cook at Bernalillo were found unconscious in a Bernalillo tourist camp cabin. Gas from a burner sickened them. doctors were unsure if they would recover. Berrong was on vacation, had stopped at the camp. Telles had gone to the cabin shortly before.
Fort Worth Texas December 10 AP reports W T Waggoner eighty two a millionaire cattleman and capitalist suffered a second stroke of paralysis last night at his home and was reported unconscious today The prominent Fort Worth resident is connected with the Waggoner interests and has long been a leading figure in cattle ranching and finance
Los Angeles December 10 AP report says actress Ann Harding plans a fight to finish for exclusive custody of her six year old daughter Jane from her divorced husband Harry Bannister.
In Tulsa on December 10 AP reports the death of 19 year old Sidney Born, found with a bullet in his head and his father’s pistol in his lap under the steering wheel of his father’s automobile. Police call it death by own action, intensifying the Gorrell case. Nearby, Sidney had earlier said he drove 19 year old Phillip Kennamer to the location.
Juarez Chihuahua governor ordered the shutdown of all gambling resorts in Juarez. The Tivoli, the largest border gambling house, was closed at midnight. The report notes authorities acted on the governor’s orders. In St. Louis a separate item tells of Bill Jones lighting a fire under his frozen truck engine to thaw it, saved by firemen.
In Portland Oregon twenty men died after drinking poisonous denatured alcohol sold by four drug store owners. Six more were hospitalized in serious condition with two expected to die and one left permanently blind. Authorities charged the shopkeepers with manslaughter.
Homer F. Wilcox Jr., 17, son of a Tulsa man of wealth, was arrested after he and his father went to police headquarters for a conference related to the slaying of John Gorrell. He was booked on a charge of malicious mischief for allegedly shooting out street lights near the fatal scene and leaving the area in darkness overnight.
James Morgan of Cheyenne Wyoming, member of the Bituminous Coal Labor Board for district 5, arrived in Santa Fe for a conference with coal miners and operators in the Madrid and Gallup districts. He planned to meet operators at Madrid tonight and then depart for Gallup tomorrow.
In Pampa Texas on December 10 an explosion of nitroglycerin killed Charlie Price a well shooter and blasted his truck to pieces. Mrs C N Suttle nearby was knocked from bed and broke her leg as an engine house and equipment at a nearby oil well were damaged.
The Roswell Merchants Association holds its regular monthly meeting tomorrow at 6 30 PM at the Nick son Coffee Shop to elect officers for the coming year. Officers Logan Hunter president H H Ball vice president and George B Owens secretary precede a joint meeting with the Eastern New Mexico State Fair Association to fill three two year board seats. Board members up for election are W W Co Holland H L Gifford Myron Prager with holdovers H A Eppes Frank Marks Jack Hull A D Jones. Speaker will be W I son from Oklahoma City, a Rai Express commercial agent.
