Washington December 8 Secretary Ickes dismissed Paul V. McNutt as a third term candidate for President saying liberal wings in both major parties would not support him even if Roosevelt endorsed. He cited McNutt’s labor record and Indiana two per cent club while noting Republican criticism of Roosevelt’s foreign policy and third term hints.

Dr. Mary H. Parsons widow of Dr. C. L. Parsons died Tuesday in Los Angeles at her sister in law’s home. Cremation occurred there and ashes return to Roswell for interment at South Park cemetery. She would have turned eighty next May and had roots in Iowa Falls Iowa. She lived in Roswell with her husband until his death in 1921 and remained active in Baptist circles.

Col E John Greer active chairman of the state capitol improvement commission described as most encouraging today in Union county district court decision upholding constitutionality of the 1939 statehouse remodeling act. Frank P Kilburn who brought the suit to test the commission s right to finance a remodeling program from revenues of a tax on filing legal instruments announced he would appeal to the state supreme court in a few days. Natural the prospect of an early decision on this matter is most encouraging to the commission. We have a lot of things lined up that would have been delayed if the litigation had been stretched out. The commission has taken the position that it was proceeding.
