Elections outcomes unchanged by Monday recount
The Lake Arthur Town Council and a Dexter Consolidated Schools Board of Education race kept their results after an automated recount led by Chaves County Clerk Cindy Fuller. In Lake Arthur four council seats were up, with Harry Wesson earning 25 votes to Robert Teel’s 22 in a three seat race. James Salas will continue as a School Board member after the recount.

Suspect Pleads Not Guilty in Roswell Park Shooting
Amador Munoz 28 pleads not guilty to one count each of shooting from a motor vehicle aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence. A jury trial is set for July 23 2024 in New Mexico 5th Judicial District Court while he remains in pretrial detention for the November 4 parking lot shooting on South Main Street.
