Frank Ivie and G. D. Kirkpatrick of the Government survey service, after two weeks in the Four Lakes country, depart for Santa Fe to attend to urgent work. They studied twelve townships in eastern Chaves county before leaving with plans to return later. The Order Eastern Star elected Mrs. Elza White Worthy Matron and other officers including Mrs. Robt Kellahin Joan Law and Mrs. Liloant. Installation is set for the first January meeting.
Dr Veal traveled to Dallas and Fort Worth to meet Texas Pacific general manager Thorne about the Roswell Eastern railroad proposal. The plan includes a $500 000 loan for irrigated farms with long term terms and annual interest payments, plus payoff privilege.
In Milley Washington county, a three cornered street fight left Walker Murphy dead after John Warrick fired eight times and Murphy attempted to shoot Lib Warrick. The confrontation started from a joke, with about fifty shots exchanged before the fatal blow. All involved were well connected. no further injuries reported.
