Free of Oberlin appeared before the U S Commissioner for a preliminary hearing on a warrant charging misappropriation of bank funds. Both men waived the hearing and were bound over to the grand jury for indictment consideration.
The Roswell post office announces free mail delivery will begin March 1 1905 with three city carriers one substitute and a mounted carrier with horse and cart. Twelve street letter boxes will be placed around town and a civil service examination for carriers is planned. Postmaster Kellahin urges residents to address mail by street and number to speed the system.
The German Bank of Buffalo, tied to German-American President Emery, shut its doors due to rising deficits. A posted notice at the entrance explains the closure amid ongoing financial stress and inability to meet obligations.

In Denver Colorado four election precinct officers were found guilty of contempt of court for allowing repeating in the late election. Frank Kratky received one year in county jail and a $100 fine plus costs. Joseph Ray and Ed Omaha got six months and $500 fines with costs. Chas Kafsky drew three months and a $250 fine with costs. Carl Wilson was discharged for lack of evidence. Attorney Taylor’s request for appeal to the federal court was denied.
A man believed to be Geo. Fahry was trapped between two pier piles at the foot of West 23rd Street in New York. Firemen and policemen struggled for hours as the rising tide menaced drowning before freeing him and he died shortly after removal. No identity or source of the incident is known.
Cleveland December 5 Citizens National Bank in Cleveland is closed President T C Beckwith and Cashier A B Spear were bound over on embezzlement charges in a case arising from misused funds at the bank The details indicate a formal legal action against the two executives awaiting further proceedings.
New York December 5. For the second time Nan Patterson, the former show girl, faces a jury expected to decide her guilt or innocence in the shooting death of Caesar Young, a wealthy bookmaker, who was killed while riding in a cab with her six months ago yesterday.
A new second hand store opens in the rear of the China Hall building operated by W. F. Peacock. The notice highlights a fresh retail option for used items and local shoppers.
District court opened with Judge William H. Pope presiding as the Roswell Wood and Hide Company case against Ed Seay continued. Witnesses on the stand included A J Hill Jas A Carroll E P Rasmussen George Bixby John C Peck W R Hughes M D Barnes Joseph Davis and book keeper Bryant. James A Carroll of Mescalero acts as Mescalero Indian agent and has a son a cadet at the Institute.
The Record will publish a sixteen page Woman's edition tomorrow at noon, with 3000 copies priced 10 cents each. Mrs. Burrus directs sales from the Hotel Shelby reception room, assisted by Miss Buruff and a corps of volunteers. Tables and chairs will be provided by local merchants for sales stations, with assignments announced at the Shelby Hotel.

The St Petersburg bar association met to mark Alexander II codification laws but doors were closed by the procurator. About three hundred members marched to Novsky prospect and formed a meeting at the town hall without a presiding official. They elected a chairman, censured the procurator, and urged freedom of the press. Port Arthur saw no new developments by Dec 5.
Shareholders are requested to attend the regular annual meeting to elect directors and conduct other business. The meeting will be held at the bank's Hagerman office on January 10, 1905. W. M. Waskom, Cashier.

Rt. Rev. J. M. Kendrick, Bishop of New Mexico and Arizona, left on the morning train. He conducted services yesterday at St. Andrew's Hall and will preach tomorrow at Portales.
