Tax Lien Sale Fails to Draw Much Interest Across State
New Mexico counties tested a delinquent tax lien sale under the recent law but bids were sparse. Bernalillo, Sandoval and Valencia offered 5500 properties with no bids. Quay county bought all liens and began reselling. Colfax reported a dozen tracts sold, including a home at French, New Mexico. Other counties saw little or no activity as the sale proceeded slowly. At noon, only 300 tickets remained for the Roswell Chamber banquet with a near sellout anticipated.
