Roswell City Police Captain Hall Retires After 29 Years Service

Capt Lindon G Hall retired from the Roswell City Police Department after 29 years two months and four days of service. He joined as patrolman in 1943 later rising to detective lieutenant and headed a growing detective division. He leaves a department that expanded from 15 to 71 personnel and will be remembered for tenacity devotion and prominent cases. He was born January 19 1904 in Lampasas Texas and resides with his wife Velma at 1706 North Washington.

Governor seeks 325 million budget for next fiscal year

Gov. Bruce King will ask the 1973 New Mexico legislature to approve about 325 million in expenditures, an eight percent rise, plus 30 million more for capital outlays totaling 355 million. He spoke after meeting with legislative leaders and agency heads to prep for the January 16 session, and signaled planned changes to the children's code and land use planning.
