The Chautauqua Assembly announces a week of events starting with a Sunday 2:30 p m union meeting and music. Captain Richmond Pear don commends the era's brightest women of the century. Frank Miller speaks on The Cable House for Sorrow. Monday features 2:30 p m Howard Payne Quartette and an 8 p m concert praised as the best quartet in Houston per the Chronicle.
The Roswell Commercial Club directors met yesterday to review the local telegraph situation. They argued Roswell risks isolation for weeks without telegraph service and considered the impact on nearby cities.
Governor George Curry issues a proclamation convoking a Coronado Commemorative Convention in Albuquerque on Wednesday October 9 1907 at 10 oclock a m to honor the Spanish pioneers and preserve their memory through organization and enacted law. The proclamation names eligibility and appoints an organizing committee including Solomon Laina Archbishop Peter Bourgade Miguel A. Otero L Bradford L Prince H J Hagerman R E Twitchell Ira A. Pope Captain W C Reid C L and FE R Tallmadge who had attended the supreme court in Santa Fe A S Move of Las Vegas bringing Tommy Wich to enter the Military Institute Robert Dow from Oro Grande to attend the Military Institute and George Neednam of Lakewood returning from Oro Grande mining visit.
