Special to The Record Amarillo Texas August 25 L A Neely third trick dispatcher was found dead in his room this morning. He had evidently been dead for several hours lying face downward in his night clothes. Heart failure caused death. He worked Monday night and appeared well and cheerful. He was relieved at eight a m Tuesday and did not show up. An officer and they found the door locked and went to his house.
The deceased, a Knight Templar and longtime Santa Fe dispatcher, was moving to join his wife in Topeka. He had traveled from Topeka to Amarillo three months ago after shipping his household goods. Remains will be shipped to Topeka tomorrow for interment.
Seven Santa Fe westbound trains crowded with eastern passengers moved eastward through Gallup New Mexico on August 25 after days of delay in Arizona due to washouts. The trains head to Deming New Mexico and then transfer to the Southern Pacific to California, with an expected arrival next Wednesday.

Las Vegas New Mexico August 25 1910 Charley Ballard of Roswell appears to have no opposition for the city council seat. The Territorial Democratic convention here favored George P Money for congress with Jerry Simpson as a rival candidate from Roswell. Antonio Joseph served as temporary chairman and H F M Bear of Roswell was secretary as the convention opened.

Named defendants include Nelson Franklin ex mayor Victor A E Carlton president First National Bank Hk C Newcomb cashier First Na Henry Dahl manager Oppier mine A Cole ex secretary Citizens Alliance Daniel McCarthy superintendent Granite mine A P Holman superintendent Golden Cycle mine William Bainbridge Supt E Paso mine deputies Harry Walters Frank Vanneck Charles Gunn and K Young. Denver August 25 state officials say National Guard officers in this city have been notified to prepare to move to Cripple Creek at a moment’s notice Adjutant General Bell would not confirm but armories show activity.
Phillip Weinheimer, president of the Building Trades all? under indictment on extortion, entered a not guilty plea. Three motions to dismiss were overruled. He was released on a $2,000 bond.

W C Hawkins of Portales reports no new developments in the John Eiland case. A prior dispatch said Eiland was held near Oputo Mexico for ransom but no further information has arrived.
Kansas City reports cattle strong to steady with ranges for native, southern, western steers and cows, stockers, feeders, bulls, calves and sheep priced from 1.75 to 5.60. Chicago notes cattle steady to higher with good to prime steers at 5.50 to 6.10 and stockers at 2.00 to 4.00.
A Missouri anecdote reports H. P. Hobson joking about Missourians being liars. Col. Page recalls apples said to exist in Missouri measuring fourteen and one half inches around. Hobson measures two apples and accepts the claim once shown.
