Muharem Kurbegovic aged 31 a Yugoslavian immigrant with a prior sex offenses record was arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of murder and is identified as Isaac Rasim the alleged alphabet bomber linked to the LAX August 6 blast that killed three and injured 35 police and FBI said he acted alone and a large cache of bomb making materials was seized from his Hollywood apartment witnesses described him as mild looking and he had been under surveillance for over 18 hours prior to arrest

Three inmates, one hostage freed in Potter County Jail standoff

Gunfire echoed near noon as a 36 hour standoff ended with five inmates surrendering at the Potter County Jail in Amarillo. Three wounded prisoners were moved to ambulances, and the released hostage Stan Snitker 32 was unharmed.

Eight El Paso residents post bond in marijuana bust case

Eight El Paso residents arrested Monday in a 2,250 pound marijuana discovery near Roswell are free on bail. Bonds range from 10,000 dollars for six men to 5,000 dollars for two women. They await federal indictments in Albuquerque while facing state charges. The drugs were found by New Mexico Game and Fish patrols during a routine search 15 miles northeast of Roswell.

Ford eulogizes Davies in solemn Cyprus ceremony

President Ford led tributes as Ambassador Rodger Davies was laid to rest after being slain Monday in Nicosia during an embassy attack.
